Additional weekend flights direct from Jersey to the island of Majorca during August and September have been announced today, in order to meet significant demand from Islanders.
Since CI Travel Group confirmed that flights to the Mediterranean island would commence from 5th June, demand has soared and the original weekly series of flights has sold out. As a result, the company has announced that they will be operating additional flights on Saturdays from 7th August until 11th September.
The flights will be operated by British Airways on behalf of FlyDirect, whisking clients direct to Majorca on an Embraer 190 jet aircraft in around 2 hours.
“We are so pleased to have been able to secure these additional flights to Majorca this summer,” commented Robert Mackenzie, Managing Director of CI Travel Group. “The response from Islanders has been overwhelming and so now we can offer those who were disappointed not to have been able to book seats before, the opportunity to do so now.
“Clients travelling from Jersey will not be required to self-isolate on arrival in Majorca as long as they are not showing symptoms of coronavirus. They will need to complete a health form prior to arrival and undergo a temperature check and visual health assessment at Palma Airport. Whilst in Majorca, social distancing measures and other safety precautions will need to be observed, but these are similar to those currently in place in Jersey.”
