The inaugural Great Acorn Reuse Bargain Hunt was held on Friday 25th June.
Thirteen teams of two had half an hour to dash around Acorn Reuse to fill their trolleys with up to ten items worth no more than £100.
The bargain hunters now have until 22 July to sell their items to raise funds for Acorn Enterprises, which provides work and training opportunities for people who have a disability or long-term health condition.
Participants can upcycle or add value to their items if they want, but their main aim is to sell-on for more than what they paid. This is a fundraiser for Ashley O’Connell, who is raising money for Acorn by running the Virgin Money London Marathon in October.
Acorn fundraising manager Caroline Spencer said: @This was a fun start to a Friday morning. Some people came with a firm strategy, others found it quite stressful trying to decide what items would sell well! We won’t know until the end of July who has won and who really knew their bobby dazzlers.
“We hope to develop the event so that it will become a firm favourite in the Acorn calendar.”
