Students faced six of the Island’s best business minds in the Boardroom with the top team taking home £2,000 as the finale to Jersey College for Girls’ LEAP programme.
Justine Wilkinson (Fairway Group), Nicola Gott (Oak Group), Andrew McLaughlin (RBS), Susanna Rowles (TargetInternet), Aaron Chatterley (feelunique.com) and Simon Boas (JOA) listened intently to the six teams of five made up of schoolgirls from as far afield as Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Thailand, India, Egypt, Germany, UK, Bermuda and USA.
The winning team Ossze made an impact with their idea for linking retired people with students to share expertise and reduce loneliness.
Organiser Dr Peter Le Masurier commented on the presentations: “It is inspiring to see the ideas that students can create in such a short period of time, and the quality of the presentation and business case.”
The event, which was held in the Fairway Group boardroom, is part of JCG’s Leadership and Entrepreneurship Accelerator Programme (LEAP) which is now into its second year.
