La Mare Wine Estate, one of Jersey’s most popular events venues and visitor attractions, has invested over half a million pounds upgrading its function room and event spaces.
The company enlisted the help of local architects Axis Mason and main contractor LCV Interiors to create the customer-led design and make the most of the natural light and views of the vineyard, orchards and gardens.
The result is a modern yet sustainable build, a mixture of natural oak and glass incorporating large floor to ceiling windows as well as a new air conditioning system, energy efficient LED smart lighting and high-tech audio-visual facilities.
The ceiling has become a feature in itself with ‘wine glass’ chandeliers. The room also has better wheelchair access and improved acoustics.
La Mare’s Managing Director Tim Crowley said: “We’re delighted with the results, it’s really connected the old and the new, brought the outside in and made the most of our key assets, our wonderful vineyard and gardens and the beautiful Jersey Farmhouse. This is a fantastic venue out of town for a whole host of celebrations.
“This investment demonstrates our continued confidence in Jersey’s visitor economy which has delivered good growth for us in recent years”
The works form part of a continuing development project at the St Mary Estate.
