What a week!
We’re meant to be on the wind-down to Christmas. But the European Union clearly hasn’t got the ‘take it easy’ memo and published its latest blacklist of jurisdictions whose tax regime is not to their liking. Guernsey and Jersey escaped… kind of.
Elsewhere, a Guernsey estate agent was named the best in the world, there was progress with the Co-op’s Charing Cross development in Jersey, and Guernsey’s government-owned airline had reason to be cheerful.
Meanwhile, on Friday, Jersey’s government unveiled it’s much-anticipated population policy. It proposes Guernsey-style work permit restrictions, criminal record checks and photo ID cards for those coming to the island. You can read our special report here.
