As part of its partnership with Mind Jersey, its Charity of Choice for 2026, de Gruchy is inviting Islanders to donate new and unused beauty and self-care products throughout September.
Coinciding with Self-Care Awareness Month, the initiative aims to highlight the importance of taking time to look after our wellbeing, while providing a simple and practical way for the community to support people accessing Mind Jersey’s services.
Throughout September, customers are invited to drop off new and unused beauty products, including skincare, cosmetics, fragrance and other self-care items, at the concierge desk on the ground floor of de Gruchy. All donations will be collected by the Mind Jersey team and distributed to people they support across the Island.
Mind Jersey is an independent local charity providing support to Islanders experiencing mental health problems. Its services include one-to-one and peer support, support for children, young people and families, a drop-in service, residential support and mental health training. Money raised by the charity stays in Jersey, helping it continue to provide services for the local community.
Simon Youden, Store Director at de Gruchy, said: “We saw such a wonderful response to our self-care appeal last year and wanted to build on that generosity in 2026. Something as simple as a new skincare or beauty product can be a small reminder to take some time for yourself and can help someone feel thought about and valued.”
“As our Charity of Choice for 2026, we’re incredibly proud to support Mind Jersey and the important work they do across the Island. We hope our customers will once again get behind the appeal and help us make a real difference to people in our community.”
Dr Patricia Tumelty, Executive Director of Mind Jersey said, “Its easy to tell people to take care of themselves but self care can feel out of reach when someone is struggling to afford food and basics. Mental health challenges can make these difficulties even heavier and Mind Jersey are extremely grateful to de Gruchy customers for the fabulous support.”
