Iceland Foods is to open its first ever store in Alderney, in partnership with Alliance.
The new Iceland store, located in Units 1–3, Ground Floor, Building A, The Crusher Site, Alderney, will officially open its doors to shoppers on 6 October at 7:30am, marking Iceland’s debut on the island.
The opening is expected to create around 10 new jobs in the local community.
The launch is the latest chapter in Iceland’s growing partnership with Alliance, the independent retailer operating across the Channel Islands. Since the partnership began in November 2024, the two businesses have expanded Iceland’s footprint across the islands, including the launch of the first Food Warehouse store outside mainland UK in Guernsey last year.
Justin Addison, Iceland Foods International and Partnerships Director at Iceland Foods, said: “The opening of our first store in Alderney is an exciting milestone for Iceland and demonstrates our commitment to bringing our popular product range and great value to more communities across the Channel Islands.
“Working alongside our trusted partner Alliance, we’re delighted to create new jobs locally and offer Alderney residents access to the products and brands our customers know and love.”
Keiran Poole (pictured), Operations Director of Alliance said: “We’re very pleased to be working with Iceland Foods to open a new store in Alderney. Together, we’re making it easier than ever for households across the Channel Islands to access Iceland’s fantastic range, from exclusive brands and everyday essentials to the great value and choice the brand is known for.
“This opening represents a significant milestone for Alliance. It is much more than simply opening another store; it marks an important step in strengthening our roots across the Channel Islands by establishing a presence in another jurisdiction, while creating new employment opportunities and investing in the local economy.
“We have taken the time to research and understand the Alderney market and, importantly, the needs of the Island. We recognise that Alderney has their own unique requirements, particularly when it comes to range, value and consistent availability. Our aim is to work closely with the local community, listen to our customers and provide a store that genuinely meets those needs.”
