ArtHouse Jersey has published the recipients of its second round of Development Grants for 2026.
The quarterly funding programme supports professional artists working across different disciplines, either to create new work or develop their creative practice.
The latest grants will support projects including a short film, poetry collections, acting training, a thriller novel, a comedy showcase at the Edinburgh Fringe and an analogue photography project documenting Jersey’s residential landscapes.
Andy Lowe has received funding towards Bread, a short survival drama set in the late 19th or early 20th century. The film follows two men driven to violence over a single piece of bread.
Katie Bastiman (pictured) will work with an editor and illustrator on two new poetry collections, while Bethan Watkins has received support for the editorial development and proofreading of her debut poetry and recipe book, She Fills Her Cup.
Joss J. MacDonald, a Jersey actor, physical theatre practitioner and puppeteer now based in London, will undertake screen acting training at the Identity School of Acting. His work has a particular focus on creature performance, puppetry and animatronics.
Julie Luscombe has received a grant towards the structural editing of her debut novel, The Caves of Candelaria, a destination thriller set in Guatemala.
Christian Jegard will take part in the Best in Class programme at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, which showcases emerging working-class comedians from across the UK.
Sophia Bourne will publish Between Times and Time, a poetry pamphlet combining poetry, photography and creative practices exploring memory, place and homecoming.
Photographer Gio Rios has also received funding for a long-term medium-format film project documenting Jersey’s residential environments, architecture and everyday landscapes.
The next deadline for Development Grant applications is 1 August 2026.
