Odilia Marote, La Mer Counter Manager at de Gruchy, has been named COPRA Retail Consultant of the Year 2026, a national award recognising excellence in beauty retail.
Odilia (pictured), who has worked at de Gruchy for the past three years, received the award in recognition of her exceptional customer service, outstanding sales performance and unwavering commitment to delivering an outstanding experience for every customer.
The COPRA (Cosmetic & Perfumery Retailers Association) awards celebrate retail consultants who consistently go above and beyond, demonstrating excellence in customer care, product knowledge, sales achievement, teamwork and professionalism.
Odilia was nominated for her passion, enthusiasm and dedication to both her customers and colleagues. As La Mer Counter Manager, she has played a key role in developing the brand locally, building strong customer relationships and delivering consistently high standards of service.
Having previously worked at de Gruchy before returning to join the La Mer counter in 2023, Odilia said she was immediately drawn to the role because of her personal belief in the products and the brand’s ethos.

Speaking about receiving the award, Odilia said: “I was extremely excited and proud to be nominated, especially knowing there are so many talented and deserving people working across the beauty industry. Winning the award made me feel recognised for the hard work and effort I have put into my role.
“I am passionate about La Mer, not only because of the products but also because of the brand’s values and commitment to supporting the oceans. Receiving this award motivates me even more to continue growing the counter and sharing the La Mer story with even more islanders.”
