Credit Suisse in Guernsey has made five senior promotions that will strengthen the company’s investment banking capabilities and drive business growth.

CEO and Guernsey Branch Manager of Credit Suisse, Paul Annegarn, said: “Our people are critical to achieving excellent client outcomes and therefore, we are delighted to recognise and reward the individuals that contribute so diligently to serving our clients and growing the business. The five individuals promoted each demonstrate exemplary ethics and delivery of benchmark client service levels.”

Credit Suisse’s Head of Compliance, Catherine Bateman, who has worked with the bank for 15 years has been promoted from Vice President to Director. Catherine’s appointment reflects her outstanding performance and breadth of responsibilities in managing the company’s compliance function.

Gemma Pols, Trust Manager of Credit Suisse Trust, has been promoted from Assistant Vice President to Vice President. Along with an extensive portfolio of Ultra High Net Worth (UNHW) clients, Gemma is responsible for providing valuable support to other members of Credit Suisse’s UNHW team, recognising the importance of excellent client services in the segment. Gemma is also accountable for multiple clients holding assets under trust of circa USD 2bn.

Global External Asset Management Department Relationship Manager, Paul Le Gallez, has been promoted from Assistant Vice President to Vice President. Paul is responsible for building new relationships with clients and ensuring existing ones thrive. The appointment demonstrates his increased scope and leadership of multiple client relationships.

Investment Manager, Wendy McConnell, has been promoted from Assistant Vice President to Vice President as a result of outstanding performance. Wendy’s team is the cornerstone of Credit Suisse’s investment management platform in Guernsey, which she has successfully led through a period of significant growth.

The bank’s Head of Treasury Operations for the market area Guernsey and the United Kingdom, Sam Tees, also joins her colleagues in being promoted to Vice President, due to increased responsibilities in managing the treasury operations department.

Paul Annegarn added: “The breadth of experience and knowledge between Catherine, Gemma, Paul, Wendy and Sam is invaluable to Credit Suisse and to our goal of being the leading wealth manager in Guernsey.”
