Jersey Community Foundation will take over the administration of the Rivington Fund from February 2026, a role previously held by Citizens Advice Jersey and ArtHouse Jersey.

Funded from the estate of former Jersey resident Mr William Charles Richmond-Pickering under the terms of his will in 1980, the Rivington Fund is focused solely on providing Jersey residents with an interest in art and/or history with the ability to travel abroad in order to further explore their interest.

Open to Jersey residents of any age, gender or ability, the Rivington Fund offers those who would not otherwise have the financial means to travel off‑island the opportunity to explore new artistic or historical experiences. Whether visiting world‑class galleries or museums, exploring archival collections, attending significant cultural events, or developing their craft, the Fund seeks to open doors and inspire Islanders to deepen their interests and bring that knowledge back to Jersey. Islanders with a passion for art, craft or history are encouraged to apply.

Anna Terry (pictured), CEO of Jersey Community Foundation commented: “We know that helping people to develop their interests also enhances their wellbeing, but for many local residents there is a financial barrier to exploring art or history as this often requires travel off-Island. The Rivington Fund is a grant that opens the door to a world of art and history, thanks to the generosity of the estate of Mr Williams Charles Richmond Pickering and we are excited to hear about the opportunities it provides for those who apply for it in the future.”

Malcolm Ferey, Assistant Minister for Sustainable Economic Development said: “We are delighted that Jersey Community Foundation has agreed to take on the administration of the Rivington Fund. Their expertise in managing charitable funds and supporting local organisations makes them exceptionally well placed to help ensure this important resource reaches those who best meet its purpose. We are also pleased to confirm that the current trustees of the Rivington Fund will remain in place, providing continuity and maintaining the strong governance that has guided the fund to date.”
