Longueville Manor’s ‘Food for Thought’ initiative has raised £5,561 for Friends of Jersey Oncology, their chosen charity for 2025.
Friends of Jersey Oncology (FOJO) is a local charity dedicated to improving the lives of people living with cancer in Jersey. The charity works closely with the Oncology Unit at Jersey General Hospital, providing practical support to patients and their families, funding equipment and services, and helping to enhance the overall environment and experience for those undergoing treatment.
The hotel encouraged diners to add £1 to their bill as a charitable donation and included a QR code on menus linking directly to FOJO, allowing guests to find out more about the charity or increase their contribution.
The hotel’s owners, Malcolm and Patricia Lewis, expressed their gratitude to the hotel’s generous guests. Malcolm said: “We are incredibly thankful to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts this year. FOJO does remarkable work for people going through one of the most challenging experiences of their lives, and we are proud to have been able to contribute to such an important local cause.”
Gemma Wall, FOJO Committee Member and Senior Staff Nurse in the Oncology and Haematology Unit, added: “We are extremely grateful to Longueville Manor and their guests for choosing to support FOJO in 2025. Donations like these enable us to continue providing practical and emotional support to cancer patients and their families, as well as funding vital improvements within the Oncology Unit.”
