Following Thursday’s announcement of his appointment as Deputy Regional Head of Crown Dependencies at ZEDRA, today we speak with Cameron Senior about his career journey, his current role, and what continues to inspire him professionally.
Tell us about your career background and how you came into your new role?
I’ve spent over 25 years in the International Financial Services world working across multiple jurisdictions including Australia, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore and Jersey.
Throughout my career I have been focused on working across teams to deliver growth and transformation with a particular focus on Wealth Management and Offshore Financial services.
Joining ZEDRA was an opportunity to translate my International Financial services experience to a global provider that also has a multi-jurisdictional footprint and a focus on growth and transformation.
What drew you to the role at ZEDRA?
I believe that ZEDRA is at a very exciting stage of its journey with a clear purpose, vision, and set of values at the core of the business. The opportunity to join an environment that is values driven and focused on a purpose to support their clients to grow, in addition to the chance to be involved in ZEDRA’s transformation journey made the role incredibly attractive.
What’s the most interesting thing about your work?
Working with an extremely talented group of individuals in an increasingly complex environment makes every day different from the next. Alongside this, the clear desire from our team to continually look for opportunities to transform and support both their clients and their people to grow every day.
What motivates you to get up and come to work every day?
I’m motivated by the opportunity to make a lasting difference – be it for our people, or the diverse group of clients we support to achieve their ambitions.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Continue to pursue opportunities and don’t be afraid to challenge yourself with something new, no matter how uncomfortable it feels! Ensure you are focused on your teams and supporting them to be the best that they can be each and every day, as through consistent teamwork comes great results.
Who or what inspires you?
I’m inspired by both individuals and teams that are consistently looking for ways to grow, transform and improve.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Anyone with teenage boys will know that outside of work the majority of my time is spent as a parental taxi between activities which tends to take up the majority of our time. Alongside a normal weekend we also love to travel as a family, particularly utilising the easy connection to France for extended road trips, and being able to experience as many different cultures, locations and histories as we can.
What are you most excited about for the year ahead?
I’m incredibly excited at the opportunities that exist in ZEDRA for us to continue to grow and transform our business. The teams across the Crown Dependencies are fantastic, and are very focused on delivering for their clients and supporting the wider Group.
