Collas Crill’s corporate, finance and funds team will be will be reviewing 2018 and identifying the challenges and opportunities that will hold for the coming year during its Guernsey Corporate Finance and Funds Conference on Friday 25 January.
Covering both technical updates and market trends, the conference will highlight key insights from the firm’s five practice areas; banking and finance, capital markets, corporate advisory and mergers and acquisitions, funds and investments and risk and regulation.
The speakers will bring a practical perspective to each topic, which will be relevant to all practitioners in Guernsey financial services.

The banking and finance session will look at where things in the market currently stand and the rising popularity of green products in the loan market. The capital markets segment will touch on 2018 trends in equity and debt listing on the London Stock Exchange and TISE, the impact of changes in regulation and the opportunities for Guernsey for 2019.
The corporate advisory and mergers and acquisitions speakers will examine market activity in the M&A space, shareholder agreements and corporate pitfalls and lessons for the future. The funds and investments session will consider what the funds team has seen in 2018, including promoter movements and performance fee trends, the rise of the PIF and resurgence in the open-ended space.
Finally, the risk and regulation segment will examine how three internationally imposed requirements in the form of data protection, anti-money laundering and anti-corruption regulations) are continuing to change and shape Guernsey businesses of all forms.
