Blue Llama is inviting Islanders to take part in this year’s Find Larry competition, an online treasure hunt that offers £500 to one lucky winner and £500 to a Jersey charity of their choice.
The challenge runs from 1 December at noon until 8 December at midnight and is free to enter. Islanders select a single square on a digital map of Jersey, where Blue Llama’s office mascot Larry the Llama is hiding.
The map is divided into around 1,500 squares, but only one contains the correct location. The person who chooses the winning square will be announced on National Llama Day, 9 December.
Last year’s competition attracted strong participation across the island and saw Eden Hannah of Grainville School take home the prize after picking the correct square in St Clement. This year, the focus turns from schools to Jersey charities, giving Islanders the opportunity to direct a donation to a cause that is meaningful to them.
Phil de Gruchy, Founder of Blue Llama, said: “Find Larry is a fun way to bring the community together and support local charities at a time of year when many of them need an extra boost. It is completely free to enter, it only takes a moment to choose a square, and someone will walk away with £500 just before Christmas, as well as giving the same to a charity that they care about.”
