EY has announced its continued sponsorship of the Guernsey Netball Association EY Youth Programme, with a three-year commitment further supporting the growth ambitions of the association.

Now in its fourth season, the programme continues to go from strength to strength. Now open to all students in Years 7, 8 and 9, the programme has already seen over 130 students sign up to take part this season. It is also providing a great pathway for players to continue playing netball beyond the programme, with 35 players from last season now playing in clubs and teams in the junior leagues, with 12 of those Year 10 students now playing regular netball in the adult league.

Last season also saw the EY Youth Program grow further to include the EY Young Leaders Programme, which gives all participants the opportunity to learn to umpire and coach in a safe and encouraging environment, improving their netball skills on and off the court. Nearly 100 players picked up a whistle and began their officiating journey, which resulted in 30 participants umpiring their own league during the spring term. This season, all the participants of the EY Youth Programme will take part in a three-week introduction to officiating, with the opportunity to continue that journey in the spring league.

Fiona Morton, EY’s Talent and an Assurance Partner said: “We are delighted to be committing our support to the GNA and to the EY Youth programme for another three years. It’s been great to see how much the programme has grown, both through the number of students signing up and with the addition of the Young Leaders Programme. This growth is a testament to all the hard work and effort from Sally and the GNA team. “Seeing so many students go through the programme and develop skills they can use on and off the court, from teamwork to communication and resilience, as well as simply enjoying playing netball, has been wonderful. We look forward to working with the GNA so we can offer this opportunity to more students over the coming years.”

Sally Carns, Guernsey Netball Association (GNA) Director of Netball, said: “We’re thrilled to renew our partnership with EY for another three years. Their continued support plays a vital role in delivering our youth netball strategy for Years 7–9, ensuring that every young person has the opportunity to play, grow, and thrive through netball. EY’s commitment enables us to strengthen our pathways, expand participation, and invest in the future of sport. We’re incredibly grateful for their belief in our vision and the impact we can achieve together.”
