The 2025 independent audit of Jersey’s mobile mast infrastructure re-affirms that emissions remain well within internationally recognised safe levels for the general public.

The annual audit, commissioned by the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority (the JCRA), was carried out by independent experts during September.

20 sites were tested, covering masts in a mix of urban and rural locations. Of these, 13 were sites where 5G services have been newly deployed for public use. All were found to be well within the safe limits for the public as set out in guidance which is published by the International Commission for Non-Ionising Radiation Protection (ICNIRP).

Robin Hogge, Technical Case Officer, said: “We are pleased to report continued safe emissions for another year. The inclusion of 5G masts in the testing for the first time marks an important step in demonstrating that our most current technology meets established standards. This audit is a vital demonstration of our commitment to ensure that Jersey’s telecoms sector is safe and well regulated.”
