Butterfield has awarded its annual scholarships to three promising students including a talented student from Guernsey, Olivia Morgan, who will receive US$30,000 for the upcoming academic year.
The scholarships can be maintained for up to four academic years.
Olivia (pictured) received the recently launched Butterfield Channel Islands Undergraduate Scholarship, which is available to an outstanding student who is pursuing an undergraduate degree and has an interest in financial services. The scholarship funds will go towards studies in Business and Management with Innovation at the University of Bristol.
Through her studies, Olivia aims to acquire the necessary experience and knowledge to work in a successful financial business, or indeed, start her own, having been inspired by the creativity and passion needed for entrepreneurship. Outside of her academic studies, Olivia was a member of her school’s Combined Cadet Forces and also enjoys a wide range of sports, including netball, cricket and shooting.
Richard Saunders, Butterfield’s Managing Director of the Channel Islands & UK, said, “We are delighted to award this Channel Islands focused scholarship for the first time to Olivia and look forward to following her continued success. Butterfield continues to invest in education and provide opportunities for our young people with a view to empowering the next generation to achieve their career ambitions.”
