Three projects, aimed at enhancing the local online shopping environment, driving better customer insights, and boosting the local tourism industry have been awarded grant funding through the Impact Jersey ‘CXTech Programme’.

The Programme – launched at the end of 2024 – aims to provide local and global innovators with an opportunity to develop and deploy tech-driven solutions to enhance customer experiences, productivity, and efficiency across Jersey’s retail, tourism, hospitality and logistics sectors.

Attracting 22 submissions from both on and off-island entrepreneurs and businesses, three successful projects have now been confirmed to receive grant funding, following a comprehensive judging and pitch process. They are:

  • Stock.Live – a retail feed management solution that aims to empower retailers in Jersey to connect and display their live in-store inventory to local online shoppers who are looking for those products. The projects aims to increase ‘bricks and mortar’ retail sales, reach customers where they are shopping and keep retail spend within the Jersey economy.
  • Sentient Machines – a data-driven approach to customer insight through highly sophisticated AI tools, to help local businesses deliver a more seamless and enhanced customer experience. The project, in partnership with Ports of Jersey, Jersey Post and Ryde, aims to help businesses understand the visitor journey and where inefficiencies can be removed to deliver outstanding customer experience.
  • Freedom Holidays – is launching a digital transformation project aimed at delivering a smoother, more personalised experience for self-catering holidaymakers in Jersey. The initiative brings together accommodation providers, marketing partners, and customer service teams to create a more connected and responsive service journey. At the heart of the project is a centralised CRM system that will improve data consistency and enable tailored customer interactions. The modernisation of booking processes will reduce manual handling and unlock new opportunities for targeted marketing, helping Freedom Holidays better anticipate and meet the needs of its guests. This forward-looking investment reflects the company’s commitment to innovation and its role in supporting Jersey’s tourism sector.

Funded by the Government of Jersey and delivered by Digital Jersey, the CXTech Programme is based on a 50/50 matched funding model with up to £500,000 being awarded to successful projects.

Commenting on the confirmation of the CXTech grant recipients, Tony Moretta, CEO, Digital Jersey said: “These three diverse projects underline once again the potential to bring about positive change across our island through the Impact Jersey scheme and the application of technology – in these cases boosting retail, supporting the visitor economy, and enabling businesses to improve their customer experience. I’m excited to see the impact these projects can all have over the coming months.”

Deputy Kirsten Morel, Minister for Sustainable Economic Development, added: “Improving productivity across Jersey’s local economy remains a priority for the Government, and these CXTech projects will support our efforts. I’m pleased to see the Impact Jersey scheme again supporting projects that embrace innovative digital solutions, to deliver significant benefits for all Islanders.”
