Skipton International has announced the appointment of Mike Wilkins as its new Communications Manager.
This strategic hire aligns with the bank’s growth phase, which includes the arrival of a new CEO this September.
Mike (pictured) joins from Orchard PR, where he served as the Head of Digital. He has over 20 years of experience in communications and a strong background in digital content production and journalism, having previously worked for the BBC.
Commenting on the appointment, Skipton International’s Chief Commercial Officer, Charlotte Dunsterville, said: “Mike’s background and his reputation within the media will be invaluable as we develop the business. His expertise and experience will enable us to grow the business with clear, concise messaging that will keep Skipton at the forefront.”
Joining Skipton International is particularly meaningful for Mike, who remembers covering the story of the company’s founding as a BBC journalist in 2009.
He explained: “Skipton International has experienced remarkable growth since its inception, becoming a significant employer in the Channel Islands with over £2.5 billion in assets under management. I look forward to contributing to the bank’s future success and helping shape its communications strategy to benefit our customers and team.
“I firmly believe in good people doing good business. Beyond its flexible mortgage and savings products, Skipton is well-known for supporting the local community, having donated more than £300,000 to charities across the Channel Islands through its Community Fund.”
Skipton’s current Communications Manager, Julie Todd, is retiring at the end of July.
