The search is on for the most inspiring conservation efforts across the Channel Islands as the 2025 Insurance Corporation Conservation Awards opens for entries.

With multiple prizes available, including a top award of £3,000, individuals and groups dedicated to protecting and enhancing our natural environment are invited to showcase their projects and compete for recognition and support.

For thirty-five years, Insurance Corporation has proudly championed local environmental initiatives through its Awards, highlighting the extraordinary efforts of individuals, schools, and organisations working to preserve Jersey and the Bailiwick of Guernsey’s unique natural heritage.

Michelle Steele, HR & PR Executive at Insurance Corporation, shared her enthusiasm for the awards, stating: “Every year, we witness incredible passion and dedication from conservationists of all ages. These awards are our way of recognising their commitment and providing the support they need to drive their projects forward.”

Entries are encouraged from projects of all scales and sectors, including community groups, environmental organisations, schools, and young conservationists. Applicants can submit their projects across multiple categories:

  • Best Conservation Project Award – Recognising the most impactful and innovative conservation initiatives. Open to conservation and environmental groups, individuals, families, schools, businesses, government departments, and other organisations. The top prize is £3,000, with a runner-up prize of £1,500.
  • Young Conservationist of the Year Award – Honouring an outstanding young conservationist. Whether working alone or as part of a school eco-team or organisation, young conservationists making a difference can win a £250 prize.
  • Schools and Youth Groups Green Award – Encouraging local schools and youth organisations to showcase their conservation and environmental efforts. The winner receives a £500 prize.
  • The Peter Walpole People’s Choice Award – Created in honour of Insurance Corporation’s founder, this award features video showcases of shortlisted entries. The public in Guernsey and Jersey will vote for their favourite project, with the winner receiving a £500 prize.

“Each year, we are inspired by the diversity and ingenuity of submissions,” Michelle added. “We look forward to discovering the outstanding projects 2025 will bring.”
