Queens Road Medical Practice has been awarded the Bronze award for Green Impact for Health by Greener Practice, the UK’s primary care sustainability network.

This recognition highlights the practice’s commitment to environmental sustainability and ongoing efforts to integrate eco-friendly practices into primary care.

The Green Impact for Health programme is designed to support GP practices in making changes to reduce their environment impact while improving the health and wellbeing of their communities.

Dr Tori Toumazi (pictured), Queens Road Medical Practice, said: “We’re so proud to receive this recognition from Greener Practice, it truly represents an important milestone for us. Our team have worked hard to implement sustainable initiatives that benefit both patients and the practice.”

Some of the steps taken to achieve the Bronze award include:

  • Reducing energy consumption through improved efficiency measures in the facilities.
  • Promoting active and sustainable travel options for patients and staff.
  • Implementing waste reduction strategies, including improved recycling practices.

These efforts align with the broader mission to enhance the health of the community while minimising the ecological footprint. Recognising that the healthcare sector has a vital role to play in addressing climate change, Queens Road Medical Practice is committed to leading by example.

Looking ahead, Queens Road Medical Practice is focused on building on this achievement and striving towards higher levels of Green Impact accreditation. The practice will continue to explore innovative ways to improve sustainability in healthcare delivery and work collaboratively with the community and partners to promote a healthier, greener future for all.
