Jersey International Motoring Festival
The Jersey International Motoring Festival (JIMF), the largest annual motoring event in the Channel Islands, has announced plans for its 25th anniversary celebration, scheduled to take place from 5th to 8th June 2025.
This milestone event will reflect on a quarter-century of motoring action in St. Helier, while also looking toward the future with a commitment to sustainability and innovation. A key feature of this commitment is the planned introduction of sustainable fuels for all competitive vehicles, marking a significant step in JIMF’s mission to support a greener future for motorsports and classic vehicles.
The Jersey International Motoring Festival is proudly organised and run by a dedicated team of volunteers, whose passion and commitment have ensured that the event remains a highlight of Jersey’s events calendar for 25 years. Despite the challenges of recent years, including the Covid-19 pandemic and pressures on sponsorships, the event has managed to remain financially sustainable while continuing to support the island’s economy by bringing many visitors to Jersey for the four-day festival. For 2025, organisers are seeking financial aid from the Government to help elevate the event to the next level and sustain its future by supporting the cost of sustainable fuels.
“We are stepping into cutting-edge technology by introducing sustainable fuel to the event, and it will come at a cost that isn’t ordinarily obtainable for our competitors,” said Event Coordinator Steve Salmon. “Our aim is to subsidise the costs of what currently is a very low production volume fuel and bring it in line with standard petrol at the pump. Pushing the additional costs onto any of our stakeholders wouldn’t be viable this year, but we know it’s a step we need to take for the future of the event. By asking the Government for support now, we hope to open ourselves up to sponsorship opportunities that are currently unavailable while we primarily use fossil fuels.”

The headline four-wheeled attraction for this year’s festival is the 1984 Group 44 Jaguar XJR-5 – a stunning prototype sports car developed in the US by Group 44 Inc. for Jaguar’s return to endurance racing. Built for competition in the American IMSA GTP Championship, the XJR-5 signaled a bold new era in Jaguar’s sportscar legacy. The example appearing at JIMF is one of the original cars from the factory programme that reignited Jaguar’s presence in North American racing. With its iconic white and green livery and a thunderous V12 engine – the foundation for Jaguar’s later dominance in the category – the XJR-5 offers a rare chance for fans to witness the origins of a motorsport icon.
Visitors will be able to see and hear the XJR-5 in action on Thursday 5th June during the Rolling Roadshow, sponsored by Ruellans Garage, and again later the next evening on the avenue ahead of the first competitive runs of the Moonlight Sprint. The car will then be on static display at People’s Park on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June.
Adding to the superbike celebration, JIMF is excited to welcome World Supersport Championship front-runner Tom Booth-Amos, joining fellow professional superbike rider Leon Haslam as a featured rider at the festival. Tom will be taking part in the Rolling Roadshow sponsored by Ruellans Garage, the CVMRC Moonlight Sprint, and the AAL Active Arena demonstrations.
Currently third in the 2025 WSSP standings after a blistering start to the season, Tom rides for the PTR Triumph Factory Racing Team on the Street Triple RS 765. With three podiums from the first four races – including a landmark victory at Phillip Island – he became the first British rider to win a WSSP race for a British team on a British-built bike.
Tom’s impressive CV includes a British Supermoto background, a British Moto3 championship title, a stint in the MotoGP Moto3 class, and a runner-up finish in the 2021 WSSP300 Championship. He ended 2023 as the WSSP Challenge Champion aboard a Kawasaki and has proven himself a fan favorite, known as much for his fearless racing as his spectacular wheelies.
These exciting additions help set the stage for one of the most dynamic and diverse Jersey International Motoring Festivals yet – uniting iconic motorsport history with current international racing talent.
