Acorn Enterprises are again seeking support this Christmas by asking Islanders to donate a small Christmas present to them.
People are asked to take part in Acorn’s Advent Calendar, picking a number between 1 and 24 which relate to items on the social firm’s Amazon Wishlist. These will directly help people who have a disability or long-term health condition who attend Acorn’s training and development projects.
Fundraising & Relationships Manager Caroline Spencer said: “People have been so generous in supporting our Advent Calendar since we started it in 2020. It is a great way to support us, knowing that an item directly helps people who have a disability or health condition in their work and training.
“We ask people to order the item that goes with the number and the item gets sent directly to Acorn in Trinity. The prices range from just £1.90 for a paint brush, and most items are between £8 and £20. The list includes beanie hats and white mugs which our clients will embroider and print for reselling.
“The Advent Calendar supports our projects into 2025 and will mean we can continue with our projects for upcycling, textiles and bikes, which in turn generate an income.”
