Financial and professional services firms in Jersey will have the opportunity to showcase their expertise in the field of sustainable finance once again next year.
The third Sustainable Finance Awards set to take place on 13th March 2025.
As part of a new format, the awards will form a key element of a week-long summit on sustainable finance, featuring a series of events with speakers from Jersey and elsewhere on diverse aspects of the sustainable finance landscape.
The awards are designed to recognise firms and individuals from across Jersey’s finance industry who are helping to drive capital to support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and champion Jersey’s credentials as a leading international finance centre in this space.
Nominations for the awards are open now with a closing date of 16 January 2025. As in previous years, there will be six main categories of awards, with the first category being split by sector. In addition, this year the Outstanding Individual Contribution Award has been renamed in honour of the late Simon Boas, former Chief Executive of Jersey Overseas Aid.
The award categories are:
- Leadership in Sustainable Finance: six awards spanning banking, corporate services, funds, investment management, private wealth and professional services
- Innovation in Sustainable Finance: for a firm that best exemplifies innovation
- The Simon Boas Outstanding Individual Contribution: recognising a key Jersey-based professional who has contributed to Jersey’s vision of being a sustainable finance centre of excellence
- Sustainable at Heart: to recognise the firm that considers sustainability and the environment at the heart of what they do
- Future Individual Influencer: to celebrate a Jersey-based individual within a firm for driving forward the sustainable finance agenda within their organisation, outside of leadership level
- Local Presence, Global Reach: to recognise the activities of a global firm that has a presence in Jersey but has made a positive contribution to global sustainable finance activities, that may have been conducted outside of Jersey
Award submissions will be judged by a panel of independent experts, which for 2025 will include Dame Susan Rice, Chair of the Global Ethical Finance Initiative.
Amy Bryant, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Jersey Finance, commented: “As an IFC we remain absolutely committed to furthering our credentials in sustainable finance and I’m delighted that we are able to launch our third Sustainable Finance Awards as part of an evolved and extended week-long programme of activity next year. The launch of our new-look sustainable finance programme is, fittingly, against the backdrop of a vital COP29 this month, where climate finance is a key issue on the agenda.
“Our summit and awards in March will give us a valuable opportunity to celebrate and champion those industry innovators who are leading the charge to work, live and inspire a more sustainable environment, whilst also furthering our collective knowledge.”
