The Little Chapel Foundation receives a technological boost for its Donation System
Share on LinkedInTwitterFacebookEmail

In an innovative move to combine heritage preservation with modern technology, The Little Chapel Foundation has received a donation of a 4G device and 12 months of complimentary data as the latest recipient from JT’s Community Giving scheme.

The Little Chapel, one of Guernsey’s most loved heritage sites is renowned for its intricate design and historical significance. Managed by a charitable foundation, it remains open to the public without an entry fee, relying entirely on donations to sustain its operations and continue the mission of its preservation.

The absence of reliable card donation facilities has posed challenges in collecting much-needed funds from visitors. JT’s 4G device will allow The Little Chapel to connect its ‘tap’ donation system, enabling seamless donations via credit and debit cards.

Joachim “JJ” Paes (pictured), a Councillor and the Treasurer of the Little Chapel Foundation said: “This generous donation will help us work towards our goal of raising much needed funds to fully restore The Little Chapel and help us work towards other plans such as wheelchair friendly walkways and woodland gardens.

“The Foundation depends 100% upon the generosity of the community, which is why we are so grateful to JT for their help to connect this iconic Guernsey attraction to modern technology to help ensure its survival for future generations.”

Pip Carpenter, Head of Consumer Markets and Community Partnerships expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, stating: “The Little Chapel is one of the island’s most popular tourism attractions, celebrated for its remarkable detail and fascinating history. Our support through a year of free data aims to encourage more donations, vital for its upkeep and the long-term sustainability of a much-loved heritage attraction. This initiative is an excellent example of how technology can help to preserve our history and enrich our lives.

“Relying solely on donations can be a real challenge for charities in Guernsey, which is why we are so passionate about the JT Community Giving Scheme. We want to make a real impact across the island and support as many charities as possible.”
