Masquerade Ball
Jersey Cancer Relief, a local independent charity dedicated to supporting islanders affected by cancer with financial aid, is thrilled to announce its inaugural masquerade ball, set to take place on 19 October at The Royal Yacht.
In a strategic move to enhance breast screening services, Jersey Cancer Relief are collaborating with the breast screening team in Health and are excited to announce at the event, their funding for breast screening roles at the new Enid Quenault Wellbeing Centre at Le Quennevais. This development will transform the service from an opt-in to an opt-out system, offering more comprehensive support for women needing screenings.
The ball will offer guests an opportunity to engage with the charity’s mission of providing financial support to adult islanders diagnosed with cancer and funding local prevention services.
Alistair Rothwell, Group Director and co-founder of Fairway Group, the main sponsor for the event commented: “At Fairway, we place value in giving back to our community, and supporting Jersey Cancer Relief is a cause close to our hearts. We are honoured to sponsor this year’s charity ball, helping to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.”
Organised by seasoned events manager Jacqueline McDermott, who has personally felt the impact of cancer, this event promises to be a memorable evening stated: “I am delighted to be creating and hosting this ball in memory of a colleague supported by Jersey Cancer Relief. Their financial aid to islanders is invaluable, and so we ‘re hoping to raise significant awareness about their cause.”
Pam Aubert, CEO of Jersey Cancer Relief, expressed her gratitude: “We are incredibly thankful to Jacqueline for organizing this ball and to Fairway for their generous sponsorship. This event marks our first-ever ball, and we aim for it to be a sellout. The funds will help continue our financial support for islanders and future screening projects.”
The highlight of the night will be a special performance by Wayne Woodward, a finalist from Britain’s Got Talent 2016, promising an unforgettable evening of entertainment. Adding to the evening’s excitement, a raffle will be held featuring a stunning diamond from Catherine Best kindly sponsored by Close Finance as the headline prize.
