  1. Clarify the weightings between behaviours and results.

  • [1.15] Be clear about the weightings you apply between behaviours (how people do it) and results (what people do). Are they equal, or do you focus more on results over behaviours?
  • [2.15] Understand the perception vs reality of the individual, i.e. do they know they deliver results, but their behaviours are unacceptable? Or are they unaware?
  • [2.57] Communicate the weightings you use against results (the what) and behaviours (the how) with the individual.
  • [3.24] Link paycheque to purpose. What gets measured gets done. Any reward or remuneration should be based on your behaviours and results weightings. This may be the trigger that makes the individual change their behaviours.
  • [4.40] If behaviours are equally important as results, which is part of your culture, any deviations from this must be dealt with as it will affect other team members.
