In celebration of Grow’s 40th anniversary, Guernsey Dairy is donating a weekly supply of its products to the charity’s Training Café.

This contribution includes Guernsey Dairy milk, cream, cheese, buttermilk and butter all essential ingredients for the Café’s diverse menu of savoury and sweet treats.

“We’re delighted to be able to support this important Guernsey charity. Having observed the work James and his team do and the delicious end results, we see the Café becoming a popular venue in the future,” said Guernsey Dairy’s marketing lead, Jon Taylor.

Open Tuesday to Friday between 10.30am and 2.30pm the Training Café operates under the guidance of professional chef James Ferguson. The café’s primary mission is to equip Grow’s crew with valuable hospitality and cooking skills. The menu features a variety of homemade cakes, biscuits, scones, sausage rolls, filled jacket potatoes, sandwiches, soups as well as teas and specialty coffees. Dairy products are a key ingredient for many of Grow’s recipes.

Grow’s Café training & development manager, Richard Portsmouth, said: “Receiving weekly donations from Guernsey Dairy is hugely beneficial to the daily running of our training café. It helps significantly to keep our running costs low, ensuring our crew receives the best training without financial strain. In turn ensuring we offer our customers a varied menu selection using high-quality, locally sourced products. We are hugely grateful to Guernsey Dairy for its generosity.”

Grow is dedicated to supporting adults with learning disabilities and difficulties, helping them to develop self-confidence and essential life skills. The charity provides occupational training and mentoring in a safe and stimulating environment, fostering inclusion and value within the workplace and broader community.

Grow opened at its current headquarters at Les Coutanchez, St Sampson’s on 14th July 1984, and will celebrate this milestone with a special open day on the same date this year.

“Grow has always been a charity very dear to our hearts,” said Dave Domaille, Production Manager of Guernsey Dairy. “Supporting them in this simple way is an honour. The work it does with their crew to develop everyday occupational and life skills is invaluable. We wish Grow continued success.”
