How would you spend winnings from a Million Pound Lottery?

Half of the tickets for the Jersey Hospice Care Million Pound Lottery have now sold!

There’s a million pounds up for grabs – and nine other prizes too – and Jersey Hospice Care have been asking you what you’d spend it on…

From a poll posted to social media accounts, the majority of people said they’d buy a house with their winnings (buy a house – 48%, travel – 24%, give up work – 16%, share with family – 12%). The money raised from the lottery not only changes the lives of the lucky winning islanders, but means Jersey Cheshire Home can continue to provide the much needed specialist care that Hospice gives to the community free of charge.

Scott Douglas, Events and Lotteries Manager for Jersey Hospice Care, said: “The Million Pound Lottery really is a win-win situation. For some, they can literally win a million pounds, or one of the other cash prizes. For those that don’t, they’ve still done a fantastic thing – supporting Hospice so that we can continue to look after islanders – whether that’s caring for patients on site or in the community, or helping family and friends with emotional and bereavement support. There really are no losers in our lottery!”
