His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla will visit Guernsey on Tuesday 16 July 2024, their first visit since His Majesty’s Accession to the throne.

The visit will highlight the special and historic relationship between the Channel Islands and the Crown which stretches back centuries.

Their Majesties’ programme will include elements that showcase the communities of Guernsey, Alderney and Sark, our unique local culture and heritage, and the Bailiwick’s commitment to supporting biodiversity, sustainability and combatting climate change.

The visit will include a special sitting of the States of Deliberation and centuries-old ceremony of homage to His Majesty, held outdoors on the St Peter Port seafront where islanders can come to watch the events.

Their Majesties will then head to the Crown Pier to discover more about Guernsey’s local environment, heritage and traditions, including ongoing work to promote Guernesiaise, local food production, and biodiversity initiatives.

Due to time constraints, Their Majesties are unfortunately not able to go to Alderney and Sark on this occasion. However, their time in Guernsey will include engaging with people from Alderney and Sark who will represent their distinctive island communities.

The Bailiff of Guernsey, Sir Richard McMahon said: “It will be a great privilege to welcome Their Majesties to the Bailiwick for the first time as King and Queen; the year after their Coronation. Their visit this summer shows just how special the relationship between the Crown and the Islands is.”

Lieutenant General Richard Cripwell CB, CBE, the Lieutenant-Governor of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, said: “Their Majesties are passionate about meeting people from across communities. We want that to happen as much as possible during this visit, as well as showing off the Bailiwick’s culture, heritage, produce and environment. As part of that, we look forward to welcoming representatives from Alderney and Sark to Guernsey on the day of the visit.”

Deputy Lyndon Trott, Chief Minister of Guernsey said: “As is well known, His Majesty also has a special interest in global efforts to combat climate change. We are looking forward to showcasing our initiatives to support those efforts and promote sustainability across a range of sectors. That includes the pioneering green finance initiatives of our main economic sector, which have a global impact.”
