The Canaccord Genuity Wealth Charitable Trust has announced partnerships with charities across the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man
The Charitable Trust will be in partnership with the Bailiwick of Guernsey Victim Support and Witness Service, Jersey Stroke Support and the Mannin Cancers Support Group. These partnerships are two-year pledges to provide financial and volunteer support.
The Charitable Trust is celebrating two decades of community support in 2024 and has provided more than £460,000 to charities across Guernsey, the Isle of Man and Jersey since it was established.
As part of its 20th anniversary celebrations the Charitable Trust has committed to engage more closely with local organisations and charities. Staff at Canaccord were invited to nominate registered charities which were close to their hearts to benefit from fundraising and volunteering over the next two years.
Commenting on the news, Jenny Murphy of the Guernsey Victim Support and Witness Service, said the charity is deeply grateful for Canaccord’s commitment to providing crucial support for victims and witnesses in Guernsey: “The Bailiwick of Guernsey Victim Support and Witness Service offers a lifeline to those whose lives may have been changed by a crime. In 2022, 292 victims and 224 witnesses were supported. Canaccord’s support will enable us to continue to empower victims and witnesses on their journey towards justice and healing.”
Tracy O’Regan, CEO of the Jersey Stroke Support said: “Jersey Stroke Support are truly honoured and delighted to have been chosen as one of the partners for the Canaccord Genuity Charitable Trust 20th Anniversary.
“The partnership will help our charity raise awareness about stroke and stroke prevention locally, as well as support the provision of post-stroke reviews in conjunction with Jersey’s health authorities. We really look forward to working with the team at Canaccord”.
Julie Stokes, Chair of the Mannin Cancers Support Group, said: “We are delighted Mannin Cancers Support Group had been chosen by staff at Canaccord to benefit from contributions over the next two years. We congratulate the Canaccord Genuity Charitable Trust on its 20th anniversary and look forward to working together with them to improve services for cancer patients in the island.”
Chair of the Canaccord Genuity Charitable Trust, Eilish Brenock, said: “We have chosen an exceptional charity in each of the islands in which we operate, nominated by Canaccord staff who felt strongly that each deserves wider recognition for the work they do – and we’ll be providing both financial and practical support to them.”
Head of Wealth Management in Guernsey, Chris Colclough (pictured) said: “Going the extra mile in such an important year for us is a great way to celebrate the Charitable Trust’s 20th Anniversary. We hope our partnership will allow the charity to continue making a difference to those in most need of support. I am encouraging all our staff to get behind the celebrations – either through fundraising, volunteering, or buying treats from the inevitable bake sales!”
