Fishermen and Braye Harbour team clear up in wake of storm
Share on LinkedInTwitterFacebookEmail

A prolonged storm across the Channel Islands, with winds regularly exceeding 50 knots, tore two fishermen’s store boxes from their moorings and washed them and other debris ashore on Braye Beach.

Both boxes sustained heavy damage as they were beached leaving debris strewn across the beach.

The fishermen, together with the Harbour team and Stuart Cox of Kiln Farm, with his heavy lifting machinery, were swiftly on the scene to clear up as the storm eased.

Harbour Master Adam Rose said: “Thankfully at this time of year there are very few vessels left in the water. However, two of the store boxes used by local fishermen were parted from their moorings and washed ashore. The owners of both store boxes and Mr Cox have been extremely helpful in working with the harbour team to ensure that the debris was cleared as soon as practicable.”
