The Rivington Fund has announced that it will be partnering with Citizens Advice Jersey in order to offer Islanders additional support in applying to the cultural
fund.
It is hoped that this additional support will encourage people to apply and ensure that all applicants have help on hand. Rivington provides funding to Jersey residents who could not otherwise afford to travel off-Island to cultivate their passion for arts, crafts or history.
The fund, which is allocated quarterly, sees its deadlines come around each year on 1 February, 1 May, 1 August and 1 November. Those who think they may qualify for Rivington’s financial support must be Jersey residents and have an interest in the arts or history. From now on people can now arrange a half hour face-to-face appointment to discuss a possible application by calling Citizens Advice Jersey on (01534) 724 942 or freephone 0800 735 0249 or by emailing Rivington. Further details about the fund, how to apply and plenty of testimonials for inspiration can be found at the Rivington website.
As part of the application process people are asked to outline their trip in detail, demonstrate their passion and reasoning for the trip and propose a realistic budget, all of which Citizens Advice Jersey can support people with. Applicants must also be aware they will be required to commit to sharing their journey with Rivington so they can help inspire more Islanders to benefit from the fund.
Deputy Kirsten Morel, Minister for Sustainable Economic Development and Trustee of The Rivington Fund said of the move: “This is an exciting development for The Rivington Fund. We are always looking for new ways to connect with those most deserving of this opportunity and partnering with Citizens Advice Jersey, who will be able to offer a much needed physical, friendly presence, will be a game changer to those thinking of applying.
“The team at CAJ are renowned for working with the utmost compassion and integrity and we have no doubt that their involvement will help nurture many aspiring Rivington awardees and ensure that an even greater number of Jersey residents will be able to benefit from travel to cultivate their passion for arts, crafts or history 2024.”
Chief Executive Officer of Citizens Advice Jersey Claire Mulcahy said: “Citizens Advice Jersey is proud to be working with the Rivington Fund to ensure that Jersey residents have all the help they need when applying for funding.
