Style Group welcomed Jason Anker MBE to their St Peter offices recently for a talk about the importance of wellbeing in the Health and Safety sphere.
In partnership with WorkSafe, Style Group’s Health and Safety advisory consultants, Jason visited Jersey to present for the first time, his new talk, ‘5 A system to Live, Work and Thrive on the other side of Fear’. The talk explained how wellbeing and mental health is a really key component in the wider approach to health and safety.
Jason Anker was paralysed from the waist down due to an avoidable incident on a construction site in 1993 when he fell off a ladder. He was 24 years old with young children – his world was turned upside down. For years, he has given talks about the importance of health and safety. However, following a big change in his life around 6 years ago, this new talk focusses on the importance of wellbeing and mental health in being able to maintain a positive approach to health
and safety.
Ed Poynton, Chief Executive of Style Group said: “We were delighted to welcome Jason to talk to all of our Style Group divisions [Style Windows, Style Office, Style Interiors, Style Homes and AC Mauger]. We take Health and Safety very seriously and Jason’s powerful presentation gave us a way of viewing it from a different perspective. All of the group that attended took away some key insights.”
