Family Law Firm Corbett Le Quesne has announced it has been shortlisted in the Boutique Law Firm of the Year category of the Citywealth IFC Awards 2019. And if that wasn’t enough, Senior Partner Barbara Corbett has been shortlisted for the Inspirational Woman of the Year Award as well in the Powerwomen Awards, the only woman in the Channel Islands.
The double shortlisting comes just weeks after Advocate Le Quesne’s shortlisting in the Citywealth Future Leaders Awards in the Family Law Partner of the Year Category, the only lawyer in the Channel islands to have made the shortlist in any of the family law categories.
The IFC Awards are in their eighth year and have as their purpose to recognise and highlight the excellence of advisers and managers in the private wealth sector in the major international financial centres.
The Powerwomen Awards meanwhile are in their seventh year and aim to champion women in the wealth sector, and highlight the female leaders of today and tomorrow.
Advocate Barbara Corbett commented: “We are thrilled to have made the shortlist for the Citywealth IFC Awards. Considering we have not yet been up and running for a year, the shortlisting in itself is recognition that we are already making a mark locally, which is wonderful news.”
Advocate Nicholas Le Quesne said of Barbara’s shortlisting: “We are delighted that Barbara has been shortlisted in the Inspirational Woman category of the Powerwomen Awards. Barbara is a stalwart in her field and quite rightly an inspiration, not least to other women. We have also focussed on building an internship programme, which we both believe to be one of the most important ways of encouraging and indeed inspiring people into the profession.”
The shortlist is now open to a public vote. Winners in the different categories will be announced on 23 January at the Citywealth IFC Awards 2019 gala dinner, and the Powerwomen Awards on 21 February respectively.
