Channel Islands project management and change consultancy company, CBO Projects, has announced that their director Ed Mason-Smith has won Chartered Project Professional of the Year at this year’s Association for Project Management Project Management Awards.

The Project Management Awards are a national competition which celebrates excellence within the industry, with an expert panel of 60 judges from the project profession judging the first stage of entries. This year, 238 entries were submitted from across the UK and had to meet specific high standard criteria, with Ed Mason-Smith being the only Channel Islands professional on the shortlist.

The awards were attended by CBO’s management team and took place on the 20th November at the Park Plaza Hotel in Westminster, London.

CBO’s services and clients reach across Jersey, Guernsey, the UK and further abroad. As a trusted partner in management consultancy, their expert and diverse team support with change management, project services, assurance and business analysis across a range of sectors, including Finance, Utilities, Government, Legal, Insurance and Retail and Consumer Business.

CBO director Ed Mason-Smith (pictured) was awarded Chartered Project Professional of the Year in recognition of his long-standing dedication to the sector and expertise. His recent achievements include setting up a new Association for Project Management (APM) branch in Guernsey, which is the first new APM branch in 20 years, and steering the development of the Guernsey Project Management Apprenticeship, to inspire and support future Project Managers.

Ed Mason-Smith shared his excitement in winning Chartered Project Professional of the Year: “Thank you to the APM for this award. I feel very honoured to have been recognised in this way, especially by judges who are renowned in this industry.

“I’m proud of contributing not just to the work of CBO, but to Channel Islands and the wider project management sector. It’s been challenging but exciting setting up the new APM branch in Guernsey and working on the Project Management Apprenticeship. I feel inspired to lead our community of project professionals, sharing best practice and knowledge and encouraging new project professionals into the sector. It’s a real privilege.”

Philip Smith, Founder and Director at CBO said: “The CBO team wish our director and colleague Ed many congratulations on his win of Chartered Project Professional of the Year.

“His award is truly well deserved, as he shows proven commitment and expertise in this field. CBO always endeavours to give clients the highest quality, best value and top industry knowledge available, and we’re delighted that members of our team are being recognised in this way. It’s a great moment for Ed, for CBO and for project and change services across the Channel Islands.”
