The Guernsey-based International Trusts and Private Client practice from Mourant, a law firm-led professional services business, has been awarded a top tier ranking in the latest Legal 500 UK 2024 guide in the area of Private Client, Trusts and Tax.
The team were promoted from a Tier 2 ranking in the 2023 guide.
For 33 years, the Legal 500 legal directory has independently analysed the capabilities of law firms across the world. Its research comprises feedback from 300,000 clients worldwide, submissions from law firms, and interviews with leading private practice lawyers. The research is undertaken by a team of experts who have unrivalled experience in the legal market.
In the 2024 guide, which published this month, Mourant teams based in the firm’s Guernsey and Jersey offices achieved an impressive 18 team rankings, 13 of which are Tier 1 – the top team ranking awarded by the directory.
In addition to the team rankings, Mourant Partners, Counsel and Senior Associates gained 40 prestigious individual rankings in the UK guide, awarded to professionals recognised by Legal 500 as the leaders in their fields and the go-to authorities in their areas of expertise. This includes Mourant Partner and head of the Guernsey International Trusts and Private Client team, Gilly Kennedy-Smith (pictured), who achieved Leading Individual recognition.
In addition, Mourant Partners Jeremy Wessels and Sandra Duerden, Senior Associate Alexander Hawkins, and Associate William Ostick were also named as Recommended Lawyers in the area of Private Client, Trusts and Tax in Guernsey.
