A new bespoke platform designed to innovate how local digital and financial services businesses can connect and work together to boost productivity and deliver new services has been launched in Jersey.
ProMatch, an online platform designed jointly by Digital Jersey and Jersey Finance and delivered by locally-based technology solutions business SystemLabs, was unveiled at an event held last week at the Digital Jersey Hub.
At the event, Edmund Hatton, Fintech Lead at Digital Jersey, and Nathalie Andersson (pictured), Fintech Lead at Jersey Finance, provided a demonstration of the new platform to an audience of around 100 financial services and digital professionals.
Aimed at bridging the gap between financial services organisations and technology providers, Promatch has been developed following extensive consultation and industry feedback and is intended to bolster and support Jersey’s ambitious and vibrant fintech space.
With an objective to increase and encourage collaboration between the financial services industry and local digital providers, ProMatch also aims to increase the visibility of small and freelance digital suppliers in the local economy, enabling them to compete better with UK and international firms.
At the same time, the platform will provide a unique channel for Jersey’s broad range of financial services firms to address problem statements in their businesses with local digital solutions, sourcing the help of local providers to meet increasingly complex digital needs, including solutions such as wealthtech, compliance tools, blockchain services and ESG reporting.
Access to the platform, which can be found at www.promatch.je, will be free for both Digital Jersey and Jersey Finance members.
Digital Jersey CEO, Tony Moretta, who spoke at the event, explained that the platform is a win- win for the local economy: “Everything we do at Digital Jersey is aimed at enabling our digital sector to flourish, and collaboration is pivotal to our approach. With that in mind, we have worked closely with Jersey Finance to develop this easy-to-use platform which will benefit both industries by matching locally based digital innovators with cutting-edge finance firms. It’s a win-win for our economy, encouraging firms to ‘buy local’ while at the same time playing a part in showcasing Jersey as a leading centre for fintech innovation.”
Jersey Finance Deputy CEO Amy Bryant, who also provided an introduction at the event, added: “The launch of ProMatch forms a key part of our ‘Jersey for Fintech’ strategy and underlines the fantastic cooperation that exists between our financial services and digital industries. Across banking and funds, through to private wealth and capital markets, alongside our related professional services sector, there is a tremendous opportunity for fintech innovation in Jersey. This new platform is an investment for the future, helping to source digital solutions on-island and underlining Jersey’s capabilities in the fintech space more widely.”
