Mourant, a law firm-led professional services firm, has had two lawyers recognised as 2023 eprivateclient Channel Islands NextGen Leaders.
Senior Associates Alexander Hawkins and Chiara Mundy (pictured), from the firm’s Guernsey and Jersey International Trusts and Private Client teams respectively, have both been recognised.
The 2023 eprivateclient Channel Islands NextGen Leaders list is an initiative designed to identify, recognise, promote and introduce the rising stars of the private client practitioner community.
Alexander joined Mourant in 2020 from a leading national law firm in Australia. He practises all areas of contentious and non-contentious private client and succession matters, assisting individuals (including settlors, protectors, trustees and beneficiaries) as well as family offices and corporate trustees with Guernsey trust law, pension law and foundation law.
Alexander was named in the eprivateclient Channel Islands Top 35 under 35 in 2021 and 2022, and listed as a Rising Leader in the Private Client Global Elite Directory 2023. In Legal 500 UK 2023, a source names Alexander as “a talent to look out for in the future.”
Chiara regularly works with trust companies, intermediaries and high-net-worth individuals as well as advising on succession, probate and wills. She has experience in Jersey private structures, including trusts and foundations, and advises on both contentious and non-contentious trust matters.
Chiara is listed as a Rising Leader in the Private Client Global Elite Directory 2023, a Rising Star in Private Client, Trusts and Tax in Legal 500 UK 2023, and an Associate to Watch in the area of Offshore: Trusts in Chambers and Partners UK 2023. She is described by a source in the guide as a “trusted pair of hands and our go-to lawyer.”
