Due to Commodore Goodwill’s delay leaving dry dock, Condor is chartering a freight vessel to provide cover between Portsmouth and Guernsey.
The MV Midas is a 108m freight-only vessel and is being sea trialled by Condor to provide capacity between Portsmouth and Guernsey.
Built in Germany in 1990, the Midas sails under the Finnish flag and deploys a main deck and lower hold for trailers.
Should the trial be successful, the vessel would cover Commodore Goodwill’s delayed return from dry dock whilst damage to the ship is repaired, supporting the company’s lifeline freight operation.
