HFL, an independent fiduciary and fund administration business based in Guernsey, has agreed sponsorship deals with local rugby and hockey clubs.
Guernsey Hockey Club and St Jacques Viking Rugby Club will benefit from three-year sponsorship deals.
HFL’s Managing Director, Matt Westgarth-Smith, said: “Engaging with our local community and being a good corporate citizen is an important aspect of the HFL ethos. So we’re delighted to be able to give back to the Guernsey community by supporting two fantastic sports clubs.”
A three-year sponsorship deal between HFL and St Jacques Vikings Rugby Club will support the amateur rugby club during what is an important season for them as they re-join the RFU League Pyramid. As part of the sponsorship package, HFL has sponsored St Jacques player Matt Lomas, who is also part of the HFL team.
Matt Westgarth-Smith continued: “We’re very excited to be forming this partnership with St Jacques. They’re a fantastic grass-roots rugby club that nurtures and develop Guernsey’s young rugby players. Their club values of friendship, camaraderie, teamwork, inclusivity and respect reflect several of HFL values, so this sponsorship is a natural fit for HFL.
“In addition to our very own Matt Lomas being a valued St Jacques player, quite a few of our employees are rugby fans, so we’re looking forward to watching them play and keeping updated on their progress. We wish them every luck during this season. We’ll be following the action and cheering them on!”
St Jacques player and fund administrator at HFL Matt Lomas said: “I’m excited for the upcoming season and very grateful for the opportunity to be sponsored by HFL. Fingers crossed the season will be as successful as we know it can be.”
St Jacques Chairman Ian Hackeson said: “We are delighted that HFL have chosen to partner with the Vikings for the next three years. It is great that another truly local business wants to support rugby on the island.
“The next few seasons are going to be really exciting for us, as we seek to find our level in the RFU league structures. We also have many talented young players coming through the development pathway, and the support from HFL is going to enable us to provide them with the best opportunities to develop into senior rugby players and fulfil their potential.”
In addition to the rugby sponsorship, HFL has also committed to sponsoring the Guernsey Hockey Club women’s island team kit for three years. The firm has supported the club for several years, and this new sponsorship marks the latest development in HFL’s involvement in the sport.
