Local mediation experts, The Resolution Centre, have today announced law firm Viberts as primary sponsor for its Peer Mediation school programme.
The Resolution Centre’s Peer Mediation programme launched in 2021 with a mission to help young people engage positively with conflict. The initiative helps children to develop the communication, emotional intelligence, and empathy skills needed to help others through a disagreement.
Over 100 local children have already received peer mediation training and a further 200 will join the programme in September. Viberts have committed to support the scheme for the next three years.
Howard Le Cornu, Director of The Resolution Centre, said: “Viberts embodies the ethos of working together to find solutions and empowering each other to be the best we can be. We want to encourage this kind of spirit with the programme.
“The generosity shown by Viberts will help us bring peer mediation to more primary-age children in Jersey and allow us to expand the programme into secondary schools. This sponsorship will play a key role in the programme’s future.”
Zoe Blomfield (pictured), Managing Partner at Viberts, said: “We are delighted to be the main sponsor for Peer Mediation. Viberts is committed to supporting the community we live in, and helping young people learn the skills needed to navigate through conflict will benefit all our futures. We look forward to our ongoing involvement in the programme.”
