Jacksons Group, incorporating Motor Mall has announced a new partnership with Jersey Hospice Care.
Jacksons Group has committed to support the charity by making a donation for every vehicle they sell from this July onwards. Every vehicle sold will result in a donation being made by Jacksons Group which is expected to exceed £60,000 per annum, a figure which roughly equates to the annual cost of a nurse on the In Patient Unit.
There is a further opportunity for each donation to be value matched by the customer and this will create a significant and sustainable contribution, all of which goes directly towards the provision of specialist support for those with life limiting illnesses in the local community.
Jacksons and Motor Mall offer both new and used vehicles for sale as well as service, parts and repairs and their commitment to offer the highest levels of product and service and passion for what they do makes this partnership especially significant.
General Manager of Jacksons Channel Islands, Andrew Searle, explained why supporting Jersey Hospice Care is so important. “The work that Jersey Hospice Care do is incredible. I had never fully understood just how much funding was required, year on year, to maintain the astonishing levels of care they provide, in often the most challenging circumstances for local families. The support they provide and the dedication of the amazing team, is truly exceptional and deeply humbling.
“Rather than a one-off donation, we wanted to do something that was sustainable, to help in their annual challenge to raise the significant funds to maintain their essential service. So, we have committed to a donation from every car we sell at Jacksons and Motor Mall from July 2022 onwards. We will also be inviting our wonderful customers to match our donation and will be promoting the work of the Jersey Hospice Care in various other ways.
“As an organisation that only works in island communities, we fully appreciate the importance of supporting, and investing in, our local community, and it is obvious just how important an organisation like Jersey Hospice Care is to our island home and its people.”
Richard Tribe (pictured), Head of Fundraising and Communications at Jersey Hospice Care said; “We are always delighted to support businesses and individuals with their fundraising initiatives, and we are very grateful to the Jacksons Group for proposing this generous scheme. Over the course of the pandemic, we have faced many challenges in fundraising. As we work to bring income and the cost of our services back into balance, longer-term partnerships like this are invaluable to supporting patients and the people close to them today and in the future. Employees at the Jacksons Group and any customers who take part, can be sure that their efforts will be making a tangible difference to the patients cared for at Hospice.”
