Columbia Estates is undertaking an island-wide refurbishment programme in Jersey.
With 25% of their island-wide portfolio earmarked for renovation, this project aims to raise the quality of life for tenants and improve environmental factors like energy efficiency. The work is already well underway, and a new Senior Facilities & Modernisation Manager has been appointed to oversee it.
While it is anticipated that this phase of improvements will be completed over the next eighteen months, the programme of work will now be ongoing in order to provide higher standards of rental accommodation for Jersey.
David Kennedy, CEO of Columbia Group, commented: “Like everyone on the island, we are growing increasingly concerned by the lack of affordable, high-quality accommodation and the potential impact on our economy and workforce. While our Jersey portfolio makes up a very small percentage of our global property holdings, it is incredibly important to us that we contribute positively to our home community.
“We have considerable expertise in delivering sustainable, multi-use developments in other locations, and we have plans to do the same in Jersey. Meanwhile, though, we are aware that we need to invest in our existing residential sites to ensure people can live well and affordably. That is why we have committed to this extensive refurbishment programme.”
