Staff from 2-REG, Guernsey’s aircraft registry, underwent specialist ramp safety training recently at Guernsey Airport.

The training is one of several staff safety awareness training programmes 2-REG undertakes to increase overall safety for aircraft visiting or transiting through the island of Guernsey.

The training was made possible by the assistance of Island carrier, Aurigny, which provided one of its ATR aircraft for the physical inspection elements of the course.

“We were delighted to provide our fellow Guernsey based company with an aircraft as it ultimately provides us with an additional level of oversight and safety for our customers. It is a small industry in the island and good to work together for the benefit of the local community.” Jason Bowley, Maintenance Manager, Aurigny.

The ramp safety training was undertaken by ten members of the 2-REG team, with the on-site, theory elements of the course taking place at 2-REG’s offices in St Martin’s, Guernsey.

2-REG is an aircraft registry in the international aviation on-off lease sector and is operated by strategic partners, the States of Guernsey’s Office of the Aircraft Registrar and SGI Guernsey Limited.

“Safety is paramount in the aviation industry and continuous training like this is what helps 2-REG provide the highest level of safety oversight relied upon by both islanders and visitors alike. Keeping regulatory and safety standards up to date is a primary goal for 2-REG and we are very thankful to Aurigny for providing use of their aircraft to help us achieve this.” Alex Segens, Director: Technical & Regulatory Operations, 2-REG.
