Jersey Gas has rebranded to Island Energy and opened a new showroom in St Helier selling smart home technology and energy-efficient appliances.
The company has been taking care of the island’s energy needs for nearly 200 years and, as part of its vision for the future, the new name reflects the changing direction of the business, with a firm focus on providing customers with choice in energy management solutions and supporting Jersey’s energy transition.
Jo Cox, CEO of Islands Energy Group, the parent company of Island Energy, explained: “Our vision is to be more than a gas company. The current energy crisis means that, more than ever, customers are seeking ways to use energy more efficiently, so we are investing locally to provide additional products and services to help islanders achieve this.
“The new Island Energy brand demonstrates our commitment to being a key part of the island’s Net Zero transition and, in the longer term, this means we will be diversifying our services and looking at alternatives to LPG gas, such as green hydrogen.”
Island Energy opens its new store on Bath Street on Saturday 28th May, offering energy saving advice and energy-efficient appliances as well as smart home technology. Customers will benefit from its team of Energy Saving Trust-trained advisers, dedicated to providing impartial advice in all aspect of energy efficiency.
“We want to be Jersey’s trusted partner in energy management; changing our name is part of that, and opening this new store is another significant step”, Jo Cox (pictured) explained.
Big brands featured in the store include Sony, Dyson, Shark, Smeg and Lacanche, plus a range of small domestic appliances. Customers can view products from leading smart home brands Hive and Tado, which can control heating and hot water systems from an app, or through a smart speaker. These products will be available on a subscription basis and installed by Island Energy’s team of engineers.
Sarah Jarvis, Head of Marketing at Island Energy, said: “We warmly invite you to come to the opening of the new store, on 49 Bath Street, on Saturday 28th May from 10am.
