Local insurance specialists, Islands, has announced two new Executive Director appointments, Mrs Joanne Ford ACII Chartered Insurance Broker and Mrs Fiona McHugh CAT MCMI.
With a career spanning more than 16 years in the insurance industry, Joanne Ford joined Islands five years ago as a team leader. Within two years, and after returning from maternity leave, she was promoted to Head of Broking Operations in Jersey. She now oversees the day-to-day operations and people management of the insurance trading floor including Personal, Commercial and Private Client business and their associated supporting functions.
Commenting on her appointment Joanne says, “Islands is experiencing a period of rapid growth and expansion across the group and so it is a really exciting time to be able to play a part in the decision-making process. Change management and forward planning is key, and these are both areas I feel passionate about. I’m thrilled to have been given this opportunity to truly make a difference, and I am really looking forward to what the future holds for me personally and for our business.”
Island’s Group Head of Finance, Fiona McHugh (shown in the main picture) has been appointed to both the Jersey and Guernsey local boards. Fiona has extensive experience in finance and management gained working at Islands over the last 21 years. Her energy, enthusiasm and laser focus on continuous improvement ensures that Islands customers receive a high quality of service from the Finance team. Fiona will work with teams across the company to ensure that Islands continue to exceed our customers’ expectations.
Commenting on her appointment Fiona says, “Having worked at Islands for more than two decades, I’ve been part of the company’s journey, our diversification and phenomenal growth. We’ve got exciting and ambitious plans and I’m looking forward to leading our high-performance teams as we develop our service offerings for our customers.”
