CONDOR Ferries is to donate £20,000 to local Channel Islands charities and organisations this summer through its grant-based initiative.
The Condor Community Fund will provide donations of up to £2,000 to social enterprises and individuals across the Islands and is aimed primarily at environmental or sustainable initiatives alongside community-based projects. The application process launches today with successful recipients notified in late June.
Greg Yeoman, Condor’s Commercial Director, confirmed the new fund is aimed at Channel Islands’ organisations and hopes to see many applications received for the annual award from across the Islands.
‘This is the third time we have run the Fund and judging by the applications received in previous years, there are really great examples of community projects and initiatives from across the Islands.
‘We are therefore keen to hear from schools, charities, amateur sports clubs, social enterprises and individuals across the Bailiwicks. We know that many give up their time for community activities and we would like to support their efforts in making a real difference, not just now but into the future.’
The process comprises of an online submission followed by an assessment of the suitability of each application based on set criteria. These include sustainability, benefit locally, enjoyment for others and how the work will be continued after completion.
Organisations that can apply include community groups, unincorporated associations, cooperatives, schools, social enterprises and amateur sports clubs.
