Jersey’s Chamber of Commerce launches skills survey

The Jersey Chamber of Commerce is hearing that there aren’t sufficient skilled people to fill many of the new roles in the island.

There has been a significant increase in jobs in Jersey in the last year (c4% or 2,650 jobs). This is the biggest increase the Island has seen in the last 20 years.  Whilst this is positive for the Island economy, the Chamber is hearing there aren’t sufficient skilled people to fill many of these roles.

To understand this, the Jersey Chamber of Commerce, lead by it’s Employment and Skills Committee – chaired by Leonie McCrann (pictured), have launched a short five minute survey to understand what some of the key skills gaps in Jersey are, whether there is a perceived link between these gaps and underlying issues such as the gender pay gap, skills development and flexibility within organisations.

The Chamber team will then use the data to better understand the issues and contributing factors locally, and to look at ways that the Chamber can work with the Government of Jersey on behalf of its members to address root causes.

The survey can be accessed here.  It will close on Friday 4th March 2022.
